A 1950s Doll in original National Costume

Everything about this doll is right. Her headdress remains intact, despite the flowers being a little squashed, her plaits are tied with the original ribbons, the frill around the base of her satin skirt is complete, and I'm glad to say she is still wearing her petticoat and knickers!

She will sit or stand, although in the photos she looks a little drunk. I think that was down to poor photography as she seems to have fully recovered now!

The condition is good although there is some fading to the front of the skirt and a couple of rust marks to her pinny. Her painted face is still bright and complete. Her linen arms, legs and body are solidly filled and she is altogether quite charming. From head (including headdress) to toe she measures 9½".

PLEASE NOTE: This doll is NOT a toy. Her headdress is fixed with pins, as is her apron. The 'buttons' on her waistcoat are also pins. Please do not give this doll to a child.

 Child Mannequin

This lovely mannequin would make an ideal display piece for the collector of vintage children's clothing. Alternatively, the stockingette covering to the body is ideal for pinning on brooches and other jewellery, or with a little inspiration and creativity why not turn it into a "notice board"

The condition is excellent, with the only wear being that shown around the neck in the photo below. The approximate measurements are: body length 21", width across shoulders 11½", waist 23", chest 27", hips 27". The height from the floor to the top of the body is 43" and 47" to the top of the finial.

Vintage Crinoline/Southern Belle Crumb Brush a little worse for wear, but quite a rarity and still retaining all of her bristle skirt. She measures 6½" high and, as you can see, she will stand unsupported. A lovely item to display or even to use!

A Melamine tray with signature and dated 1984. The label indicates “This is a British made Royal Melamine base from SMIT of Guildford Surrey UK”

This tray and the one above are old shop stock and are consequently unused. There are a few storage marks, but none to my mind detract from the tray.

If you love kittens this is the tray for you!

Four pretty French floral parchment lampshades approximately 4" high x 5" diameter at the base.

They are all in very good vintage condition. On close inspection there are one or two tiny marks which I'm sure will either scratch or wash off if necessary. One shade has a slight dent, but it is not creased, so I would imagine that this could be smoothed out. It is, in any event, close to the stitched seam and would not, therefore, be visible from the front.

A Victorian  Mauchline Ware octagonal cotton reel box. The coloured transfer on the lid depicts the often-found design of shells and seaweed. There is some wear to all surfaces as would be expected in a well-used item of this age, and there are no longer any dowels to hold the cotton reels. However, this is a nice piece to add to any collection.

An attractive card bookmark dated 1947 with a poignant verse:

"On the leaves of Memory's Book are many pictures dear, ...
They are the pleasures of the past, and bring our old Friends near."

A lovely gift for a dear friend, or one to keep and treasure yourself.

A few rubs to the edges - perfectly understandable for a 60 year-old!

A vintage soft lavender fabric covered box divided into 3 compartments. The top is lightly padded.

On the outside the fabric of this French box is worn at the corners and soiled at the edges. However, this is still a pleasing box and the shabby chic appearance is certainly not detrimental, purely a sign of its true age.

The box measures approximately 9" x 5" x 3½".
