RESERVING AN ITEM
If you wish to purchase an item please email to reserve it in the first instance. At the end of each item description is a "Vintage to Victorian" logo. Please click on the logo to send an email.
Please type the item code in the subject line of your email and give brief details of the item you wish to reserve in order to avoid any confusion. Remember to provide your name and address so that I can calculate accurate postal charges.
Please do not pay for an item before receiving confirmation that you are the purchaser. The website is updated on a daily basis, but occasionally 2 people reserve an item at almost the same moment. It will normally be the writer of the first email who will be given the option of completing the purchase. If you are not that person but have paid prematurely, your money will have to be refunded, thus creating additional admin.
Please state your preferred method of payment when you reserve an item (see below).
Once I have informed you of the total price, to include postage & packing, you have the opportunity to either pay by one of the methods listed below, or you may choose not to purchase. The item will be held for 7 days only.
POSTAGE & PACKING
Postage will be charged at cost. A small amount may need to be added for packaging, although I recycle protective packaging where possible. I am happy to combine postage costs when 2 or more items are purchased at the same time.
METHOD OF PAYMENT
If you are UK based you may pay for an item by cheque, Postal Order or PayPal. Cash is acceptable but please remember this must be entirely at your own risk. For all other countries payment can only be accepted via PayPal in pounds sterling. Once we have agreed a purchase/sale I will forward an appropriate Invoice.
CONDITION OF ITEMS
Most of the items available in the shop are vintage or antique and have been pre-loved. Sometimes the simple ageing process has caused blemishes of one sort or another. I always try to point out any flaws, but if you only wish to buy perfection my pre-loved items may not be for you.
As far as linens and textiles are concerned there will occasionally be a slight flaw in the fabric, or some storage marks. Whilst I wash most of the white linen before offering it to you, some items will need subsequent laundering for these marks to become unnoticeable. Under normal circumstances I would not offer an item where a flaw, damage or storage mark detracts significantly from its overall beauty or usefulness. I will always say if this is in fact the case and, where possible, provide photographs.
PRIVACY
Whilst I may keep your email address and details for future contact, these details will not be passed on to any other party or used for any other purpose.
RETURNS
If you are not happy with your purchase for any reason you may return it within 7 days of receipt. I always obtain Proof of Posting and would expect you to do the same. Any refund will be paid (minus postage costs) once the item has been returned in the same condition as it was sent. Please notify me of your intention to return an item before sending it back to me. Any 'Sale' items or 'Special Offers' will not be eligible for return.
