An immaculate 1940s smocked silk dress or shirt of fine quality. This was made for a little boy so I think there would originally have been some matching rompers or shorts. The ecru colour silk is smocked with 2 shades of blue thread and the collar and cuffs have been edged with the same silk threads. The seams have been machine stitched, but the buttonholes and hems have been worked by hand. The bottom edge has been hemmed with tape for added strength.
Size: Width across the shoulders is 10"; width under arms 15" (ie 30" chest) and the length is 19" THANK YOU, THIS ITEM IS NOW
